Salom and Viñales will join forces next season in Moto2.

Moto3 Championship rivals Luis Salom and Maverick Viñales have signed up to be teammates next season in Moto2 with the Tuenti HP 40 Pons team.

The two Spaniard’s are currently battling at the top of the Moto3 standings, but next season they will be in the same garage as they team up under the guidance of Sito Pons.

With Pons loosing both Espargaro (Tech3 MotoGP) and surprisingly Tito Rabat (Marc VDS Moto2) he was in the market for two young riders, and he appears to be putting his faith in youth, hoping they can replicate some of the magic of Marc Marquez. Pons managed to sign both riders up to two year contracts at Silverstone, and will remain with Kalex chassis’ for 2014.

Not only leaving Moto3, Viñales has also left his manager Richard Jove. Jove was the man Viñales clashed with at the end of last season, and was one of the reasons he refused to race in the Sepang race. Jove incidentally has left the Blusens set up all together, for whom he was team manager.

As ever in the Grand Prix paddock time doesn’t stand still, and the favourite now for Salom’s Ajo Moto3 ride is Aussie Jack Miller. Miller has impressed on the severely underpowered Honda, and his superb performances this year look set to be rewarded with a move to the (non)factory KTM team.

Miller’s impending move puts fellow Aussie Arther Sissis’ ride in jeopardy. Results haven’t been as hoped for Sissis, with Ajo and Red Bull believed to be considering putting current Red Bull Rookies leader Karel Hanika.

At this time of the year 2014 announcements are made weekly, so be sure to check back to GPxtra.com to stay right up to date with the moves.
